Daily Prayer

March 7, 2022

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Lectionary Readings: Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18, Psalm 27, Philippians 3:17-4:1, Luke 13:31-35 or Luke 9:28-36, (37-43a) Based on Psalm 27 Loving God, God of all goodness and righteousness, We call out to you in the times of our distress, It sometimes feels as though there are enemies all around us. We see fighting and violence in our world, in our communities, and sometimes even in our own homes. We see the results of racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and all manner of evil in all of these places as well. We confess that we are sometimes the victims and other times the perpetrators of these sins. We pray that you will forgive us, and never give up on us. We will wait for you with courage and strength. We will serve your people with justice and compassion. Show your face to us, O Lord. Let us know you and experience you as our salvation, our perfect parent, and our friend. Let us rest in your peaceful presence. These things we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. By Rev. Rebecca L. T. Cho, Community UMC (Cochituate Village of Wayland, MA), member of the Commonwealth East District Committee on Ordained Ministry
