A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s Prayer
Lectionary reading: Psalm 35:11-28; Exodus 35:1-29; Acts 10:9-23a; Luke 4:1-13
Lord of abundance, Lord of love, you are always there for us and you never hold back. We receive your finest, your grace, without payment, yet too often we offer you leftovers. We give the time and energy remaining after attending to our daily duties. We offer the money left after spending on ourselves, if there is any. Help us to put you first. May we follow you where you would have us go, do what you would have us do, and be who you would have us be. Let us offer you our best, and do so with joy in our hearts. May we recognize that feeding your sheep in every way is giving to you. Help us see the abundance we have, and to share it with others. Amen.
Mary Lou Guarnera, laywoman from the UMC of Holyoke, South Hadley, and Granby, and a member of the Commonwealth West dCOM.
