February 21, 2022 A daily prayer from the New England Conference The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. Today's Prayer Prayer of Reflection after reading Luke 9:28-36 From the mountaintops to the valleys, we hear you calling to us, dear One, Calling us to respond to your words, “Listen to the Chosen One, listen.” And in the valley we hear, “Follow me, come and see.” We watch as you are bathed in light and transfigured in front of our eyes And as we come down from the heights we watch and hear words of hope spoken to strangers, those who are broken or lost. We watch as they are transformed by your love. You draw us to you, gathering us with our human fears and dreams. Are we enough? Are we worthy to be called your children? Your glory has awed us and your presence walking beside us welcomes us, confirming that we are your children. We sometimes long to be awed and astounded but we come alive when you approach us quietly offering us grace, and mercy. On mountaintops and in valleys, in our hopes and in our hearts, help us respond to your love, your mercy and your abundant gifts, in order that we, too, can reach out to bring hope, joy and your presence to all this day and every day. Amen. Rev. Brigid Farrell, United Church of Thetford, Green Mountain District Committee on Ordained Ministry
