Daily Prayer

Jan. 3, 2022

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Beloved At your baptism, the heavens opened. A voice from heaven called you beloved, with whom God is well pleased. Beloved, a sense of identity, of belonging. This gave you the strength to go into the wilderness. Perhaps God is calling me, calling us beloved as well. If we knew deep within us that we were beloved, that God was well pleased with us, then we could do wonderful things. As I touch the water, may I be reminded that I too am beloved. May I be reminded that all that I encounter today are beloved, with whom God is well pleased. May these words be transformative today and always. Amen. By Rev. Megan Stowe, Commonwealth West District Superintendent Luke 3:15-17, 21-22
