Today's Prayer
“With a truly tragic delusion, theologians fail to see that it is not a matter of proving the existence of light, but of blind people who do not know that their eyes could see. It is high time we realized that it is pointless to praise the light and preach it if nobody can see it. It is much more needful to teach people the art of seeing.” — The Wisdom of Carl Jung, edited by Edward Hoffman, p. 173 Light of life, We praise you this morning as we embark on this new year beginning today, For creating in us renewed hearts and filling us with your dreams, For assuring us that your light is bright and shines over the shadows of the world, For promising that your light will help us navigate this new journey. Open our eyes to see the light that is within us, Fill us with your light, Help our light not to dim, Use us to dispel the darkness around us, Make us shine with the brightness of your incarnation. In the year 2022, May we grow in your grace and truth, and find favor in your sight, May our neighbors see the Light through our actions of love, May the world be drawn to your redemption through our faithful witness. In your holy name. Amen. By Rev. Taesung Kang, Granite District Superintendent Based on John 1:1-18; Inspired by Carl Jung’s quotation
