Today's Prayer
Almighty God, Today is the last day of waiting, waiting, waiting for the day we celebrate the miracle birth that changed the course of history. And though that birth changed everything, we are still waiting. Waiting to be freed from the clutches of a pandemic. Waiting for those suffering from persecution to be delivered. Waiting for the homeless to have homes. Waiting for those without food to be fed. Waiting for those who have suffered from catastrophe to be restored. Waiting … Waiting … Waiting … And … we are waiting to give birth to new miracles today. That is the good news, isn’t it Lord? You have given your Spirit so that new life might come in and through each of us. Birth in us the Spirit that expects new miracles of life. Birth in us the freedom for which we wait. Birth in us the miracles that end the pointless waiting. Thank you for the miracle of Jesus. Birth in each of us the miracle of Jesus for others. Amen. By Rev. Rick McKinley, Director of Congregational Development, NEC
