A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Today's Prayer
Colossians 3:12-17 3:12 As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. 3:13 Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 3:14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Lord, I am hurt and angry. One of your chosen ones has not treated me kindly or compassionately. I come to you with all of my anguish and all of my righteous anger. I want to hear you say, that I am right to feel so hurt. I want to hear that you too see how badly this sibling has treated me. Instead, you subtly lead me back to your word. Bear one another, forgive one another. Clothe yourself in love. My anger melts away. I feel your love for me and for this sibling. I know that I will gain peace once more not in retribution but in love. Thank you for loving me enough to show me true peace, Lord. Thank you for restoring our relationship. It is good to be yours. It is good to be one once more. By Rev. Dr. Jacquelyn Brannen, Katahdin District Superintendent
