Today's Prayer
The Lord of joy We praise you, O God, For you are the source of our joy and we delight in you. Thank you, God, for the joy of Mary and Elizabeth, even when the news is unprecedented, even when doubting the mystery is inevitable, even when foreseeing a future is impossible, even when facing peer pressure feels unbearable. Unto them, you brought such joy, Unto you, they lifted their voices in exuberant song, Come, Lord Jesus, Unto the lowly, hungry, unprivileged, and humbled, Unto gloomy and destitute situations, Greet us with your peace, Visit us with joyous news, Fill our hearts with joy, Move our souls to dance with the rhythm of the Holy Spirit, Come, Lord Jesus, Through you, May we believe that each one of us is blessed and beloved, May we express our gratitude with leaps of joy and songs of praises, May our joy be contagious to others, May we abide with joy to say along with Mary, “I’m bursting with God-news: I’m dancing the songs of my Savior God” (Luke 1:46) O Come, the Lord of joy, unto us. Let this be our prayer, Thanks be to God, Amen. By Rev. Taesung Kang, Granite District Superintendent Based on Luke 1:39-55
