A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis for September 3, 2020

September 3, 2020 A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis During these difficult days, members of the Commonwealth West District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. _____________________________________________________________________________

Today’s prayer

Creator and sustainer of us all, we walk in the safety of your arms, embraced in your love and grace, into the blessing of an ordinary day.  As we venture into the light of the day may we be blessed to offer hope to those who struggle to find hope, peace to those who seek to go beyond the troubled waters of their lives, grace to a world that yearns for a transforming love,   and healing hands to mend the broken. Lord, help us to see the extraordinary in the ordinary day with a grateful heart.  Open our eyes to the possibilities you lay within and before us.  Invite us once again to take up your yoke and renew our efforts to journey in your light.    And remind us that we are not defined by the troubles in our world, but by the love that flows from our lives,  as you love us. In your holy name we offer this prayer as we seek to bring praise and glory to your precious name.  Amen. Rev Bruce Arbour, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Westfield, MA In response to Psalm 148 and Matthew 11:28-30
