A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis

During these difficult days, members of the Seacoast District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Based on Psalm 106:1-4

Lord, in these days of turmoil and the destruction of lives by the coronavirus, you continue to abide with us.   It is in this respect the Psalmist reminds us never to stop giving you thanks because of your goodness and love.  Today and the days ahead of us, we will praise your name and ask for your favor of comfort and peace upon those who have lost their loved ones to COVID 19. Also, Lord, in your mercy, grant healing to those who are experiencing the pain of the pandemic at home and abroad.  God, free your people from the virus and other diseases so that we will declare and proclaim your mighty acts continually in praise and thanksgiving. In your precious name I pray. Amen! By Rev. Dr. John Innis A retired Bishop of the United Methodist Church and a part-time pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Rhode Island, Seacoast district.
