A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, the Commonwealth West District is sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. ________________________________________________________________________________
Today's Prayer
A prayer inspired by 1st Thessalonians 5:9-11 and Psalm 123
Dear God, thank you for helping us through these tough times while we are suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for helping the homeless and the hungry during these trying times, through the food banks and homeless shelters. Help us to serve you and do your will. We will be fed and housed through your generosity and mercy. Help us, we pray, to lift this burden of COVID-19 and 2020 off our shoulders. Thank you for helping scientists tasked with making the COVID-19 vaccine. God, please help the frontline workers, the cashiers, the delivery people, and everyone else who are constantly at risk of getting COVID-19. In the name of your son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
