November 11, 2020 A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis During these difficult days, the Commonwealth West District is sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. ___________________________________________________________ Today’s Prayer
Inspired by Matthew 25:14-30 Abundant God, from whom flows every good and perfect gift, remind us that in all things, at all times, you generously provide all that we need to answer your call. You call us to use our gifts to serve one another, yet at times, we hide from this great responsibility out of fear. Fear of loss, fear of pain, fear of rejection, fear of failure. Enfold us in your loving embrace and help us see past our fear so that we may faithfully serve you and our neighbors. You teach us that anything is possible with faith even as small as a mustard seed, yet we often look at the work you call us to with skepticism and doubt. Open our minds and our hearts and guide us to take loving leaps of faith. You have done so many wonderful things and you have marvelous plans for us. Let not our near-sightedness and selfishness come in the way of your will for our lives, for we long to be your good and faithful children, sharing in your joy forever. And so, inspire us with grateful, trusting hearts to use the good and perfect gifts you’ve given us, O God, to praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. By Benjiman Durfee, Director of Music Ministry, FUMC Westfield MA
