A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis

During these difficult days, Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar and members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today’s prayer

Holy One, We breathe in deeply as we acknowledge your presence within us. We exhale as we cleanse ourselves of the clutter that impedes the living of your truth and guidance. Quiet us to be open to sacred space to see you more clearly. We breathe in … We exhale … Cleanse our hearts of the attitudes and actions that come between us and you. We breathe in … We exhale … Inspire us to let go of the commotion and excuses that surround us and block our vision of your kingdom. We breathe in … We exhale … Teach each of us to walk in the ways of living and serving your truth and justice. We breathe in … We exhale … We pause and give our thanks to you for the many varied ways that you have blessed each of us. For every breath in today … fill us with the love, peace, and joy of your Son, Jesus. For every breath out today … help us to share that love, peace, and joy with the world around us. Amen. By Rich Hughen, Interim Conference Lay Leader Mark 11:15-19
