A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, members of the Seacoast District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Based on Psalm 67 Gracious God, Father of us all, hear our prayers. Let all the people praise you. We are a discouraged people. We are an angry people. We are confused, scared and anxious. We cry out in the continued ravages of coronavirus, a plague that has taken so much from us. We ask for comfort. We do not feel the pain of racial injustices heaped on our brothers and sisters. We ask for the path of understanding. We forget that flood and drought, war and hate, mental illness and additions, domestic violence and human exploitation, hunger, homelessness, are still ravaging our world. We ask to remember. Show us the path through all we are traveling. Melt the hardness of our hearts so that we can let go of self to see the entire picture. Give us courage to let go. We know you have a plan. Help us to see it. May You continue to bless us and guide our way. We sing your praises. We shout for joy at your wondrous grace and bountiful goodness. Let all the people praise you. Lat all peoples praise you. We pray in the name of your son Jesus. Amen. By: Stephanie Cyr, Seacoast District Co-Lay Leader
