A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, members of the clergy class of 2021 are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s prayer
Holy Spirit,
as we center ourselves in your presence this day,
gracefully transform these wandering strokes of a pen-tip
into our honest prayer to you.
This day,
we are reminded that it is not these desirably perfected prayers,
but it is your love towards us that brings us towards you.
And what you asked of us is not so difficult: To love each other.
This day,
we pray that you are the gravity that settles the impurities of our minds.
Grant us patience as we gain clarity over time.
And grant us wisdom that we recognize that this water that surrounds us
is the water you baptized us with.
For the amazing opportunity to live this day fully,
Holy Spirit, we are thankful.
Amen.
