Ephesians 1:7-8
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
I am thankful for this grace, which covers me no matter how I succeed or fail. I know I have God’s forgiveness because He loves me. God loves and forgives all of His children. My job, to forgive those who wrong me, or who wrong others, is tiny In comparison. I must simply have a forgiving heart, which goes to forgiveness first and not after much cajoling and several reminders. Forgiveness should be my first and last response when I am wronged.
Father God, Thank-you for your gift of graceful forgiveness. May I be as generous to others, in Your name, Amen

Ephesians 1: 7-9 In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding
God loved us so very much that he redeemed us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins. We are redeemed through the blood of Christ. We have been forgiven forever.
Dearest Lord, Thank you for your Son, Jesus. Through his death I have the wonderful gift of eternal life. Thank you for all the grace you shower upon me. I believe in Jesus as my Redeemer, in whose name I pray. Amen.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of God’s grace which he lavished upon us with all wisdom and understanding. (Ephesians 1:7-8) This scripture lesson took a while for me to understand. There is a definite difference between redemption and forgiveness. Forgiveness is a choice made by (me) to forgive this offense whether small or large. Redemption is the release from the consequences of that offense (by me) for the person who committed the offense. You have to have redemption before you can be forgiven. We know that Jesus’s blood, was the price he paid through his death on the cross to release us all from the power of sin. …
Ephesians 1:7–8 This is our fifth reading about forgiveness. “The Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” This was the first and really the only one we needed to get the message. And yet forgiveness often seems so hard! We often need to hold onto a grudge. Why? Does it really make us feel better? No. Today’s reading is a beautiful reminder that God’s sacrifice of his son for us should be all the reminder we need to put aside our feelings and to be as kind to others as God was to us. Prayer: gracious God may forgiving others be first on my mind as you would want it to be. Amen
Ephesians 1:7-8 - “. . . redemption through his blood . . .”
Scripture tells us forgiveness is not without price. Jesus paid mightily for our sin, but, as the hymn says, “Jesus paid it all.“ It also says, “all to Him I owe.” His model for forgiveness is the standard to which we strive. If anyone I forgive feels the tiniest fraction of the joy that a Christian feels when assured of God’s grace and forgiveness, then I have honored the teaching of the Son.
Prayer - Holy Bearer of the sin of the world, may my first and automatic response to being wronged be forgiveness. In that You paid it all so that we may be restored i…
