James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
This is not likely what we have in mind when we look for a Bible verse about joy. This kind of joy is more like a reassurance, a confidence, that we will be better and stronger after going through a difficult time, when we walk with Jesus. Trials+ prayer+ peace+ growth=JOY!
Holy Lord, thank you for being with me always, and for helping me to grow when I go through difficult times. May I remember and anticipate joy in everything which comes my way, I pray this today. Amen
