Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter;

To search out a matter is the glory of kings.

God will always be a mystery, or at least as much of a mystery as He chooses to be. Likewise, his decisions, plans, motivations, etc. are not necessarily for us to ever know. However, I do believe that God expects us to be curious; He created us with curious, inquisitive minds. We are not meant to equate ourselves with God or ever presume we fully understand His plan, but I believe we should never stop seeking.

Holy Lord, help me to see what I need to see, and with that, to live following your good and perfect will. Amen

Proverbs 25:2. From the Message:

God delights in concealing things; scientists delight in discovering things.

I have always been a wonderer. The title of my message last week was "Did you ever wonder?" In doing my research on Noah and Noah's wife, I read about the ancient Rabbis who wondered also. They would study the Torah and other ancient texts and try to "fill in the blanks" so to speak. The work they produced is called a Midrash. There is one about Noah's wife that gives her a name, Naahama, and an important job--gathering all the seeds of all growing things so they could be planted after the flood. I also found out that she is mentioned and named som…

Proverbs 25:2

We are not intended to know all God knows or what he has in store for us. We honor God and trust God for the things we know AND for the things he may conceal. I think we have the responsibility to work to understand God‘s word and look for ways to help us achieve those this through groups like this , through study guides, our pastors and spiritual leaders. This should be perpetual in our lives.

Heavenly Father, help me to always put trust in you and you alone, as our all knowing God and help me to never stop looking to understand your word and plan for us. Amen

Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.

As the only omnipotent, perfect Creator, the Lord is entirely justified in choosing what He will or will not reveal. At the same time, believers and non believers are obligated to seek and try to understand this mystery within our human limitations. God loves us, he believes in us. God doesn't hide things FROM  us, but he does hide things FOR us. He believes in us so much, that He wants us to search out the wonders and mysteries of Himself. He wants us to grow and come closer to him through daily  study…

Proverbs 25:2

This proverb is totally new to me. I cannot remember having read or studied it and it reminds me of Jesus telling those he healed or realized who He was to keep it to themselves early in His ministry. God’s plan and timing are known only to God. The mystery of God’s ways may be part of what draw us to know God better. Becky stated it perfectly. Our mission is not to be God, but to seek God.

Prayer - Everlasting God, I cannot fully grasp Your ways, but am convinced, as Paul wrote, that all things work together for the good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. Help me live…
