John 17:1-3
After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
”Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
Jesus reassures us with this prayer to God. We know that by accepting and knowing Christ we will be forever with the triune God. This is eternity: that we may know Him. Whatever this is like, it is what God has prepared for those who love Him. I can trust God with this, but I can’t help having so many questions!
Father God, I know you have a place for me, near you. I am thankful. I am full of questions, but this does not alter my trust in you. I am yours. Amen

John 17:1–3 3. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. This prayer of Jesus is amazing. He is telling us that knowing the one true God and himself, Jesus, gives us eternal life. Not just at death, but now. By being believers, we can experience God‘s love today. We must be aware of this and open our hearts and minds to his presence. What a beautiful message. Now today we can experience eternal life. Prayer, Gracious God, Jesus’ prayer is for all of us. May those who seek him read John 17. Amen
Went to send my morning scripture thoughts and hit the wrong key. It is gone. See you tonight.
John 17:1-3 - “After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: ‘Father, the time has come.’
We of a certain age begin wondering when “the time has come.” Jesus knew it was His time and left us with this high priestly prayer of protection for those who believe. The gift of faith allows us to face when the time has come with the assurance of eternal life in heaven with the Father, Son and Spirit. Heaven, whatever it “looks” like or how we perceive it, is a place of eternal peace. There are times when I feel I experience a bit of heaven right here in this earthly life and it is glorious. To contemplate an eternity with…
John 17: 1-3
2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.
Jesus is finally finishing the reason he came down to earth. Through his death we gain eternal life. Being in heaven for all eternity where there is complete happiness and the time to honor the God who made us. We will be free.
Dearest Lord, you promise us eternal life. What a wonderful gift to think about. A life of complete joy and utter happiness. I am honored that you would give up your Son so that I can live. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
