John 14:27
”Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
These words of comfort should be posted somewhere in my brain. Jesus himself comforts us and promises us peace. When I am upset or anxious and afraid, turning to Jesus gives me a different peace than I can find in any worldly activity. There is no permanence in this world. The comfort we get from our Lord and Savior is eternal. He is the eternal comfort for our brokenness.
Holy Lord, I am so thankful to you, and thankful for your presence, which never leaves me. Thank you for your grace, and your abundant peace. Amen

John 14:27 I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. These beautiful words are what we need in our brokenness. Instead, we often turn to worldly things for a solution. What a gift we have been given. We should seek these words first, not last in our weakest moments. Prayer: gracious God plant these words in my heart, so I will remember you first in times of difficulty. Amen

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
This verse is not only comforting but promises a reality. Jesus is offering us a wonderful peace, his perfect peace for our troubled hearts. This peace that Jesus leaves is not like the peace we hear about in the present day world. He is giving us the responsibility of letting this peace calm us in every circumstance and give us courage and strength for every challenge. He wants us to choose to control the negative emotions that can cause trouble and make…
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
We live in a world of broken lives and deep pain. Believing in God and His wonderful gift of grace will give us the peace in this life that we crave. We continually have this peace through our faith in Christ Jesus. Our only hope as we live on this earth is our belief in Jesus who goes to the Father in our names.
Dearest Lord, thank you for the wonderful peace you give to me. The peace I feel in my heart as my faith…
John 14:27
There could be no better verse to close a week of readings on brokenness. After all is said and done, the peace of Christ is the only thing that can tend to the brokenness of humanity. The daily demonstration of the consequences of a culture that rejects the Good News have become so commonplace that we accept and rationalize our brokenness instead of seeking the peace and healing freely offered through Jesus’ death on the Cross. We as believers must do our part to point to the source of peace even if it is opposite the direction of where everyone else is pointing.
Prayer - Jesus, I seek Your peace. I have just returned from a quiet and…
