A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, May 12

Psalm 66:8-20
verses 13-14: I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble.
Why is it so easy to forget to say “Thank-you, God!”, when prayers are answered? Or to forget to follow through on promises made in times of fear and worry? God is so steadfast and constant. He is answering prayers every second. Sometimes I don’t even remember I asked for God’s help until some time after everything is resolved. Today these verses are telling me to be present in my relationship with God. To be thankful, always, for all blessings, whether I prayed for them or not, but especially when the blessings answer my call for help.
Father God, you are here with me every second of every day. I will try to be more aware, and more present in our relationship. I am truly thankful for all of the many blessings you have bestowed on me, and all of the prayers you have answered. Amen
