A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, July 5

1 Corinthians 4:1-2

This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

Everything about my life as a Christian must involve good stewardship. The very fact I have heard the Good News leaves me responsible. God has chosen each and every one of us to have life, and to know Him.

Holy One, you have chosen me to follow you and to know you. I will do my best to be responsible and respectful of this trust. Amen

1 Corinthians 4:1-2

This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.

I believe First Corinthians chapter four verses one and two are giving you and I a clear definition for success in our lives. The world has all kinds of answers to this question for us. Success in our life is what the world says is successful. But here in First Corinthians chapter four verse two God is saying in his word what success is in our life as a servant of Christ and a steward of the gospel. First and foremost, we must b…

1 Corinthians 4:1-2

To bear the title of trustee implies responsibility to guard the safekeeping, best interests and appropriate use of that for which one has been entrusted. It could be a charitable foundation, estate, church or other building. Christians are trustees of the Good News. We assure the appropriate use by always seeing the Gospel is used not as a wall to keep people out, but as an invitation to let people in.

Prayer - Welcoming God, let me demonstrate my worthiness in stewardship of Your Word by constantly working to represent Your love to others even when the circumstances in doing so may be difficult. Amen

Being faithful is a very important part of being a steward. I should never forget that God is always faithful to me no matter what. May I always be faithful in my work and my prayers in honoring God.

Dearest Lord, thank you for all Paul did for us in his time on earth. I hope that I am always faithful like Paul when challenged with life’s issues. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

1 Corinthians 4:1-2 So then, you are not to regard us as servants of Christ and those entrusted with the secret things of God. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. As Christians we have been entrusted not just with the word of God, but with the requirement to live and act out the words as we go through our lives. I try to do this always, but I know I often do not. I hope to be a good steward of your words – not just to read and know them but to share them with others. Prayer: gracious God, May my stewardship of your words be what you wish for me. Amen
