Isaiah 40: 27-31

verses 30-31: Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

This was the view from the top of the mountain. We worked so hard to get there, yet there were clouds covering most of the view. But we had accomplished our goal, and the joy was in the process, not a single view from the top. God created life on earth to be a challenge for us. It is not always easy, and we are not always rewarded here on earth as we expect to be. In contrast to this life, as great as it can be, God promises us eternal life, soaring with wings like eagles, and running on feet that never grow weary. Hard to believe, but as true as words from Jesus in John 14:2- “if it were not so, I would have told you.” I am comforted knowing I will be safe forever.

Heavenly Father, May I be worthy of the eternal life you have promised me. I am thankful beyond words. Amen

Isaiah 40: 29-31

When I think of an eagle soaring, I imagine a bird flying against a bright blue sky. Eagles fly alone. The strength and the nature of the eagle gives it the courage to fly by itself. Although the Lord gives strength to the faint and weary, when I/we are tired and worn out by exceeding my/your physical limits I/we need to rest. Spending time with God and allowing him to renew our strength will be helpful in many circumstances. For me this would mean simply losing my temper or speaking words I will later regret. I want to rise above the ordinary and soar like the eagle. The most important message for me is Look to …

Isaiah 40: 27-31

30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

This passage gives me hope. I know that in life we can become overwhelmed with difficulties, fears that gnaw at your heart, and sometimes I grow weary and lose faith. I stumble because I try to do it all by myself, then I realize that is what I am doing, and I turn to Jesus. He is the one that can replenish my soul with grace and love. He renews my…

Isaiah 40:28 - “ Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”

If there are those who really do not know, and have not heard the Good News, is it not we who should be telling them? The Holy Spirit speaks to us in language not understood by those without faith. A stunning image like the one Becky posted is just a pretty sky and snow on the trees. To believers, it is the face of God. As transformed people we can act as translators of that language. As Paul told the…

2021-0126 Tuesday, Daily Devotion - Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

31 but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

Today’s scripture teaches how to Renew our strength, soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, and walk and not be faint. It is to have hope in the LORD. It might be easy for those who trust in God to have hope in the Lord. But it might be hard for those who don’t have any hope or trust in God to have hope in the Lord.

So it might be more difficult to have faith…
