A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, Feb 21

2 Timothy 2:23-25
Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth...
To be a credible witness, I must be at peace with my friends, my family, and with those I am witnessing to. Holding on to anger does not allow me to share the peace I find in Jesus Christ. None of us is perfect, but I am much more likely to listen to one who has found peace, than one who is argumentative and critical. And I need to remember I am a follower of Christ, a witness, and an example to others at all times, not just when I decide I am ready to fill that role.
Holy One, I am thankful for your guidance and your presence with me at every moment. Help me to set a good example, and help me to correct my attitude when I am not. Amen
Becky, transforming
