Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.
With this verse Paul reminds us that the closer we grow to God, the better we will understand Him. And in order to grow and transform alongside God, we must not lean-in to the world. I will have to meditate more on this. I understand the logic of it. There is so much mystery involved with God’s will, though. Is everything that happens in the world God’s will? It is hard to imagine the mess we have made of things to be God’s will. But we know God can work goodness and mercy into and through anything. Maybe that is what Paul is referring to. This is what we can see more clearly, the closer we get to God.
Holy Lord, lead me and guide me. Thy will be done. I would like to understand more, more clearly. Amen
