You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that- and shudder.
God is more powerful than any force of evil we could imagine. When Jesus cast out evil spirits, they left, fearful of him. Even though this evil exists, we know (and the evil forces know) that God is much stronger. When we look at the phenomena of prison inmates turning to Christ, we can see the power of the Holy Spirit at work in a very concrete way.
Holy Lord, I do not fear evil forces because I know you live within me and help me to not succumb. But we are all at risk of harm from evil in others. Lord, I ask that you continue to soften hearts in order to bring others to you. Help me to be a force of good, which in some way battles the evil forces in this world. Amen

James tells the most basic truth of all worship, that there is only one God Almighty.

Christians would be doing well as long as we continue in scripture. It is a teaching that ought to be familiar with everyone. James’ reminder is encouraging and powerful. Satanic demons and their leader know they cannot defeat the power of God. It is up to every believer to wield that power when faced with temptation and evil. Stand firm in the faith and watch them shudder.
Prayer - Omnipotent and mighty God, the enemy of my soul is a defeated foe and knows it. Let my daily donning of Your armor protect me and set Satan to flight. Amen
