Psalm 133: 1-3
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
David knew God enjoyed peace and harmony within his creation. But there have been battles and wars since the very beginning of civilization. People have always found it hard to coexist without conflict. It is difficult to imagine a world without it. But God, no doubt, has in mind a world where people are able to air their differences peacefully and remain in unity. This is, however, a time when I feel there is little I can do as an individual to bring us closer to this ideal.
Father God, help me to be a light for unity, which spreads from one to the next. There is no end to how far this light can reach, with you in control. Amen

Psalm 133:1–3 It is difficult writing about unity this morning as we read that Russia has invaded the Ukraine. It seems world unity will not happen in my lifetime. If I want to focus on unity, I need to break it down to something manageable. I can help spread unity in my own family, workspace, and community. I can pray for unity for our church. This evening I can pray for the people of Ukraine at a local church in Goffstown. Prayer: gracious God, please use the power of all our prayers to save the people of Ukraine.
Psalm 133:1-3
You can put oil and water together, but don’t expect them to mix. Putting brothers together with their families on the same patch of land, but don’t expect them to be happy about it. Don’t expect believers of any church to agree with each other or to even get along. They’re oil and water. They won’t mix. This has always been the case, because people will never agree on everything, because there will be too many opinions. Unity is possible when we agree on our purpose in life, to work together for God and not ourselves. We can celebrate our past, but concentrate and learn to grow more in the future. We have all heard or maybe even…
Psalm 133:1-3 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
Who are God’s people in this verse? Are they those who believe in him or all who He created? If it is all creation then unity never happened and probably never will. As Christians we must live in unity and show those outside our circle what a wonderful life that can be.
Dear Lord help me to find it in myself to declare my belief and not only live a Christian life. I have no evangelical spirit in me and would be very uncomfortable in that role. Amen.
Psalm 133: 1-3
1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
God’s grace and love involves unity among His people. When I think of the horror going on in Ukraine and actually all over the world in war or lack of belief in God, it makes me sad. I am sure that God is sad as well. His vision for His people was one of unity and love. We must carry that unity and love through our belief in Jesus to all that we meet. It doesn’t have to be showy, just a genuine love for all.
Dearest Lord, you show me how to live in your words in the Bible. Jesus showed us…
