Genesis 2:18-25
verse 24: For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
These verses about the creation of woman from man are sort of difficult for me. The creation part is clear, but the role of the woman in the life of the man is not 100% clear to me. It is true, at some point in his young life a man is ready to leave his home and his parents. But it is not always a woman who helps him to be ready to leave. Some never marry. And some women never marry, but most end up leaving their parents’ home. I think for me it is enough to say God knows we work best together, with a helper or helpers, and no one is meant to live their life in isolation.
Holy Father, you created us to need one another and to love one another. Life is different for each of us, but your love for each of us is the same. Help us to encourage each other, to be helpers to one another. We are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Amen

18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Human beings were created to live together. No one can live alone. This is a principle for human life on earth. There are people who get help from others and give help to someone else. There is also time to help others and receive help from others. Every human gives or receives help from each other. This is a foundational principle for human life on earth. This verse rings true to me more today, than at any other time in my life. Covid-19 has caused us to be more alone then at any time in our lives. We are kept away from family and friends. It brings to mind how much I have depended on speaking with God every day then every before. It took a crisis to get me to reform. I know in my heart that we all need people in our lives.
