Ephesians 3:16-17a
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
Ephesians 6:10-11
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
These verses from Ephesians both talk about strength, but I initially was struck by their difference. The first points out the Holy Spirit dwelling in us gives us strength. This strength allows us to do God’s work, to be a light and a comfort to others. The second verse reminds me of the protection the Holy Spirit provides. I am stronger and less apt to fail or be tempted when I am aware of this armor and protection. In either case, the verses tell us that strength from God, in the form of His own Holy Spirit, dwells within us. He does not just drop by now and then for coffee, or stay for a long weekend. He lives here within me, and within each of us.
Lord God, I am full of thanksgiving. Help me to remember your Spirit within me every moment of every day. ❤️ Amen

Ephesians 3:16-17 I pray that the Father would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being—that is, to have Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, having been rooted and founded in love. This was confusing for me when I first read it, but slowly as I read it again I realize that God still lives within us today. Like so many other scriptures this is a comforting trust .Christ, by his Spirit, dwells in our hearts, through faith. This is so important for me to grasp and hold onto, especially when my weaknesses and failures make it seem like God is so far away. We should pray fo…

I never thought that I was protected in any real way by my faith. I realize now that I was protected by faith in what I had been taught over the years. I was protected by knowing right from wrong and guided to make the right decisions that helped me and didn’t hurt others.
Dear Lord, I am sure that my decisions have not always been what you would have wanted, but in general your teachings have kept me on the right path. Thank you for being…

Ephesians 6:10-11
Paul explains to the Ephesian church the source and substance of inner spiritual strength. We cannot build it ourselves, but God is strong enough to supply all who believe. We are supplied with the powers that Paul characterizes as the full armor of God; truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and the Word itself. These are the tools, granted us by God, that provide us the strength to live as believers in good times and bad. Don’t leave home without them.
Prayer - Amor-bearing God, thank you for the strength You provide in the Spiritual gifts bestowed upon all who believe. May I strive daily to put on the full armor of God so that others may…

We are saved by the gift of grace given to us in order to have the strength to overcome Satan and the temptations Satan sends our way. The strength we have through grace and the belief in Jesus Christ as our Savior gives us the strength to persevere. Though we are saved by the Holy Spirit, we are still tempted by Satan. We are called by Christ to do all we can to take a stand against sin until Jesus returns to us.
