2 Corinthians 4:5
For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
It is hard to think of others, and not ourselves, first. I will admit it does not always happen naturally for me. Paul is reminding the church in Corinth that he is not wanting people to come to him, but to come to God. Paul offers himself as a servant to all in order to bring others to Christ. I am certain I need work in this area. When I am too focused on myself, any invitation to know Christ will be unclear to others. I pray this morning for God to open my heart in servanthood to others I meet along the way. Help me, Lord, to put myself in the role of servant for you. Amen

2 Corinthians 4:5
For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
Sharing God’s Word, clearly and accurately gives him pleasure. When I was teaching a Sunday school class, it was not about me ,every time a bible study leader opens the word in someone’s living room,it was not about them, every time a father sits down with his family and starts talking about the Word of God, it is not about him. We honor Him by making His Word known and understood. We are servants of God . The temptation for us to want glory from something or someone is not a new thi…
2 Corinthians 4:5
While I know that some around me seem impressed with my work for the elderly in Nursing Homes
, I am usually somewhat embarrassed by that. I recently gave a Zoom talk/lesson to several people I did not know about this program. My hope is to spread the word and encourage others to do it also. As I explained how my storytelling evolved, I tried to give credit to others and the Holy Spirit. This is not my show! It is my time with lonely people and time to share God’s love with them.
Prayer: Gracious God, thank you so much for the talents you have given me and for being my guide along the way. Amen
2 Corinthians 4:5
I encountered this verse right after reading another message I get daily from Plough Magazine called “The Daily Dig.” It really seems to fit the essence of what Paul is saying.
Don’t Fight Poverty
CLAUDIO OLIVER
In our work with the poor, we learned a hard truth: Jesus didn’t bring good news to those who serve the poor from a secure position in life; he brought good news to the poor. He has nothing to say to other saviors who compete with him for the position of Messiah. He brings a message for those who recognize themselves as poor, naked, hurt, tired, overburdened, needy, and hopeless. For the rest, he has little to offer. The only way…
2 Corinthians 4:5 I sit here reading and rereading the scripture today saying how can I help..it’s a good lesson to reminds me that it’s not about me, that it’s about saying it to others, helping others, letting other know that we here serving you our God! It’s not easy among non believers or non followers of Christ but I remember the lesson the love God want us to share!
Dear Lord,
Please help me today and everyday to to know you’re my God and to go out and not be afraid to tell and help others to know you as I do. Amen
