Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
There are times when holding onto a worry or an upsetting piece of information makes us feel very alone. Sometimes I forget that actively sharing these things with God in prayer can be just what I need to remind me I am not alone. Even though God already knows my "secrets", the act of sharing with Him is the start of healing.
Holy Lord, today I turn over my life, again, to you. I have no secrets from you. You know my joys and my worries. You have led me to this day, and I am thankful. Amen

From the Message:
Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.
If you keep your worries to yourself, ie. a secret, nothing but more worry happens. Sharing your needs with God helps you. Even though he already knows, we all know how much it helps to speak our problems out loud. It doesn’t make you weak to seek help—it makes you stronger to have him as your partner.
Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for always being with me when I need you most. Amen

God says when you are anxious and worried you are telling God that you don’t think He can handle your problem. The Bible tells me to give all my worries and cares to God, for he cares about me. Prayer is the best way to give my anxieties to God and to exercise an…

Philippians 4:6
Our choir sang an anthem yesterday titled “Burdens are Lifted at Calvary.” I thought of that after reading Becky’s post about how burdensome it feels to bear one’s personal trials and hurts alone. Learning God is the safe haven where these secrets can be shared and going to God in prayer can ease those burdens are important steps in the path from being a Christian to living a victorious life in Christ.
Prayer - Lord, the Apostle wrote You are in every prayer about every situation. Teach me to pray like our sister in Christ, Kay Layne, offering petitions while at the same time offering thanksgiving for what You will do with my prayer. Let these prayers remov…
