A Daily Devotion for Monday, March 11

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God spoke to his people, Israel, through the prophet Isaiah. He speaks today to all who have come to him, and who believe. Today I pray that God's mercy and peace be felt by all those involved in the conflict in and around Gaza. May God soften hearts and turn energies to good. May human beings, each and every one a part of God's creation, recognize the worth in one another. May they reach out in merciful, loving and thoughtful ways. All this with you, Lord. Please let there be peace. Amen

Isaiah 41:10

Through Isaiah, we hear these familiar words—Don’t be afraid, or Fear not for I am with you. As many times as I read these lines, I often wonder if I could really feel that strong in a desperate situation.. I would hope that I would also remember that he gives me the strength I would need to weather that storm. It is only that strength and belief in Him that can carry me through.

Prayer: Gracious God, May I remember that you are always by my side. This is the strength you offer me. Amen

One of the many benefits as believers in Jesus Christ is freedom from fear. But even if it creeps in  we  know that God will be with us to protect us. He will help us, he will bring us through victory as we believe and  obey him. God does not want us to fear because fear prevents us from receiving and doing all he has planned for us . God loves us and he will help us stand strong and not let…

Isaiah 41:10

Helicopter parents do more harm than good in the bigger picture of their children’s lives. Attempting to eliminate every barrier to success even to the point of always doing more difficult tasks for their child is not a recipe for healing in the face of life’s inevitable disappointments. God is the best model of parenthood. Always being there to strengthen, help and uphold, God sustained people who frequently made choices that were detrimental to them. God does not step in at every whiff of danger or unpleasantness and keep us comfortable and happy at all times. Far more important is that we know deep in our hearts that God is there in the difficult times, providing the emotional…
