Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

We have so much to learn from studying God’s word and listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Still, so much in life does not “make sense” to us. How do we navigate those times we see no good reason for the pain or the fear around us or in us? We may never understand. But whether we understand or not, God is there with us. We turn to Him for peace, which inevitably He provides.

Holy Lord, you hear my prayers. You have promised to never leave me, and to love me through every storm. In this world we will have trouble. Thank you for walking beside me. Amen

Proverbs 3:5

Putting my full and absolute trust in God has been hard for me sometimes. My arrogance allows me to think I can solve my own issues, but I always come to realize that’s like banging my head on a rock. I do believe God guides me and I do have trust in Him, and even though I may from time to time be distracted, I always circle back to Him. The older I get the easier it seems to turn to God in full trust, to answer my prayers in His way and His time and to be there to guide me on my journey here on earth. It’s the only thing that makes sense in a worl…

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

God surely wants us to trust him with all our hearts and mind. I found in my own life that I would say I trusted God, yet I personally tried to come up with the reasons and the answers for my problems . As I grow  older and wiser, I know God wasn’t asking me to solve my own problems, he just wants me to trust him. I will  never understand the directions he wants to lead me. I know that when I share my problems with him, I find Incredible peace and…

Proverbs 3:1-6.

So often we plan and plan some more. We have everything under our control. Suddenly something changes and the plan won't work. At least it won't work as you planned. A detour in the plan. God has other plans and we often find another way we can do what needs to be done in an even better way. God's GPS is often so much better than our own.

Prayer: Gracious God, help me to always include you in my planning. AMEN

Proverbs 3:5

It took years of mistakes and bad decisions for me to fully realize my “own understanding” was insufficient to live a life that honors God, is Christ-centered and Holy Spirit-driven. There is no doubt in my mind that marriage and family put me on the path toward deeper and more genuine faith and away from a misguided urge to be master of my own universe. There are still lapses and the need for course correction, but trust in the Lord makes this possible before my own understanding does damage.

Prayer - Merciful God, thank You for your presence, patience, guidance and love for this sinner You have saved by grace. Help me always to trust in You and…
