Romans 8:15-16
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
When we know we are God’s children, we know we will be cared for. For me, this is assurance: peace and hope, received from God just by asking. If our children come to us in need, we don’t turn our back on them. God will comfort us. I think God waits sometimes for me to turn to Him, to remember Him, and then He is listening.
God, you have said we should come to you and believe in you with the simplicity and honesty of children. You provide me with peace and comfort, and the assurance of eternal life. You are my Father, and I am thankful. Amen

Romans 8:15-
Being Christian means, we have been adopted by the most wonderful God the Father. Our adoption gives us a wonderful, confident, and blessed relationship with our Heavenly Father. So often we tremble at the struggles of life, but we must remember all we have to do is cry out to our lord and savior. I don’t want to ever forget this. God never asks me to do what I am unable to accomplish. He has given me the power. I have all the necessary resources I need. I do not need countless hours of therapy with Dr. Phil. I have got his Word via the Holy Spirit. So now I need to do what God commands me…
Romans 8: 15-16 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “ABBA” Father. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
God adopted us into His family. He did this through the Holy Spirit when we became His children. We became His children through our belief in Jesus Christ. Our communication with God is done through the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit takes my prayers, even when I don’t know exactly what to say, and brings them to God.
Dearest Lord, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to…
Romans 8:15–16 “When he adopted you as his children.” The word adopted speaks to me this morning. I did not realize that even in Paul’s time, adoption was part of Roman law. Jerry and I adopted our oldest daughter. It was a long, drawn out legal process that took years. As Christians, we were adopted as a child of God when we received the Holy Spirit. No law involved—only love. Prayer gracious God thank you for the assurance of your love for all of us as your children. Amen
Romans 8:15-16 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.
I believe that the Spirit is a thought, a belief, a faith, that God loves us and that we are forgiven of our sins and that we will be with Him in the life that follows this one. It isn’t a physical thing, but a frame of mind that we have to allow to affect the way we live. If we really accept the assurances of the Spirit then the changes will happen to us.
Dear Lord Help me to really accept the Spirit the way it is meant to be…
Romans 8:15-16
Paul offers a restatement of Jesus’ message in His parable of the prodigal son. The younger son, on realizing his error planned to offer himself to be as a slave to his father. He returned to a loving welcome and treatment as a beloved child. While I must never abuse or exploit this privilege, Scripture provides the assurance that even when I fail, if I turn to God with a repentant heart, I will be welcomed back into His family.
Prayer - God of forgiveness, I often question my worthiness to be called Your child, but time and time again You have provided for me in love even when I was on the wrong side of You…
