Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
I had not really thought about indecision and anxiety as similar, but there is a connection. I usually try to frame my “indecision issue” in a way that will help me consider which choice might be in line with God’s will. But when that doesn’t work, it does lead to some anxiety. Jesus tells us not to waste time worrying. If our heart is seeking God, and we are praying and seeking His direction, we are most likely to make a decision that is pleasing to God.

Matthew 6:33-34
I am a worrier. I can't deny it. Sometimes in the midst of a worry episode my mind imagines all the things that can do wrong--horrible things. Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for taking away the awful scenarios my mind conjures up. AMEN

He experienced betrayal, poverty, hunger, and violence as he lived in the ways of God’s Kingdom. But he never felt insecure. Jesus was confiden…
Matthew 6:33-34
Jesus is closing out this section of his Sermon on the Mount with the assurance that diligently seeking God’s kingdom is sufficient to get through each day. Jesus reminds us that every single day will bring us our share of difficulties, but we don’t have to be paralyzed by anxiety and indecision over them. Staying on the path of God’s will as best as we can discern it is the most direct route toward gaining what we need - if not necessarily what we want. In that belief is a contentment that keeps indecision in check.
Prayer - Lord, I could spend my time worrying and endlessly fretting over every decision I face today, or I can seek…
