Colossians 3: 15-17
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
These verses read like a lesson entitled: How to Worship, All Day, Every Day. I am reminded that worship should be part of every choice I make. If I am listening for God’s voice, and keeping my mind and heart in tune with Him, then everything I do can be an act of worship.
Holy Father, May you find my heart to be a loyal and comfortable dwelling place for your Spirit. I will strive to show my love for you through acts of worship every day, not just on Sunday. Amen

Colossians 3: 15-17 “Do it all in the name of Lord Jesus.” Is this not the essence of worship? Living like this eliminates the unfortunate division of Sunday morning from the rest of our lives. Living like this is to be in perpetual worship and offers an unbelieving world a glimpse at what the Kingdom of God is all about.
Prayer - Holy God, let all that I do with and for others be a reflection of Your love through the Holy Spirit in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

Colossians 3:15–17 If we are to let the peace that comes from Christ rule in our hearts, we must go full-in. Peace, not just Sunday morning. Peace, not just Tuesday evening. The lessons in these verses tell us to always be in worship mode during our days. Everything we do should be in praise of Jesus. I do love that we are being told to sing with thankful hearts. That’s the easiest part for me! Prayer: gracious God, may I never forget that all I do and say and sing is to praise you. Amen

When I look back over my life I don’t ever remember consciously doing anything in the name of the Lord. I feel as though my constant exposure to His word directed my actions (in many cases) without conscious effort. I think we do things as Christians because we believe His teachings and they become engrained in us.
Dear Lord, thank you for your constant instruction. Is unconscious action what you had in mind for your followers? Amen.

I now know that reading this verse tells me that everything I do, I should do in the name of Jesus. If I can apply this verse to my everyday life, I will benefit from God’s love. Jesus died for me and brought me into his family of believers. If I believe all he has shared with me through the Bible, I will be able to accept all the challenges of this life on earth. I give thanks to Jesus for all he has done for me and continues…
