A Daily Devotion for Friday, October 28

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

This verse says so very much to me. I believe this verse can explain to a non-believer that a creator who loves us very much put us here on earth in a planned and loving way. First, He created us to appreciate and respond to beauty, in all the different ways we experience it. Secondly, by putting eternity into our hearts, we naturally will seek God, and have a yearning to find Him and be with Him. This is one of the most beautiful aspects of creation, to me.

Holy Father, I spend my days seeking you, finding you in my life in different places and situations. You are always with me. I only need to keep my eyes open. And you have allowed me to enjoy the beauty in so very many aspects of your creation. I look forward to the promised eternity with you. Thank- you, Lord. Amen

When I find myself getting impatient or experiencing disappointment, or when things don’t work out as I think they should, it is always so comforting to look at verses such as Ecclesiastes 3:11 about God’s perfect timing. So many things do not make sense to me right now, but God’s got a reason. Verses like these empower me to continue praising Him even when things don’t make sense, and to continue trusting Him and growing my Faith. Whether wondering, or worrying, God’s perfect timing is…

In all of us I feel that we know in our hearts that there is something more than this life on earth. In that knowledge, I am aware of the promise of eternity and the hope of finding eternal happiness in heaven. In the meantime, I will enjoy the beauty that God has given to us in all that He has created.

Dearest Lord, thank you for all the beauty you have given us to enjoy in this world. You have been generous with all you have…
