Exodus 20:16
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Proverbs 12:22
The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.
God wants us to be truthful. Hopefully by the time we reach adulthood we have settled on telling the truth and not making things up as we go along. But I have to admit, it is not always 100% easy. Sometimes telling the truth involves admitting we were wrong, or admitting we need to apologize or make things right, and that can be uncomfortable. If I am able to stop and realize God knows the truth about everything, it should be clear there is no point in covering up the truth.
Holy Father, you see me through and through. You know when I am not truthful. I am sorry for the times I have covered up the truth for my own benefit. Amen

Exodus 20:16
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Knowing that God will delight in all I do if I am honest, gives me such hope. I will attempt to embrace honesty and integrity always. God demands telling the truth and always dealing in honesty in all I say and do. I will keep from exaggerating facts and keep it simple and truthful. In this way God will delight in all I do and say.
Dearest Lord, you have given me the means to know right from wrong. Being truthful in all I do or say is something I aspire to. Give me the grace to always do what is rig…
Exodus 20:16, Proverbs 12:22 Telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is one of the most important parts of our justice system. Adding, so help me God, speaks directly to these verses. Not half truths, not some of the story, not just out right lying. Our justice system and the world around us needs to be incorruptible. Sadly, this is often not the case. As Christians, we need to be the example of these verses, even if it’s hard. Prayer: gracious God may the words of my mouth bring delight to you always. Amen
