Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
It is a comfort to know that seeking God is not something we do once, and it is done. It is not an event we choose to do and then finish or do not finish. Seeking God is a lifelong endeavor. We have faith in God because we see and feel his power, although we have not seen God Himself. When God responds, sometimes we consciously know this to be the case. Our faith in Him grows as we draw nearer and nearer in understanding.
Father God, sometimes I wonder why it is necessary for you to be so mysterious! But seeking you daily does strengthen my faith. Each time I learn or realize something new about you through your Word or through learning with others, I feel closer to you. That is reward. I am so thankful. Amen

Hebrews 11:6 When I read this verse, I thought of our group. I think this transformer group is full of faith and we are constantly seeking God in our every day devotions and sharing. We are seekers. We know God and are always seeking his truth through his words and his son. Prayer: gracious God may we be pleasing to you each day as we seek to understand your words. Amen

This verse tells me that God’s first concern is with my faith. My attitude towards Him and my trust in Him, rather than my actions. This verse tells me that just going through the motions is not what God is looking for. If I want to please God I need to have faith and trust in Him.

We truly please Him when we LIVE by faith. We please Him when we are not being influenced by life's troublesome circumstances. When we live by faith and not by sight we are pleasing our Heavenly Father. Once we have believed in God's saving grace through faith in Christ he rewards all who seek him.
