Jeremiah 29:11
”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
The Lord speaks to his exiled people in Babylon through Jeremiah. He hasn’t forgotten them. He hasn’t thrown them away. He knows what they are going through. He has made promises to them, and will keep those promises. It is the same for God’s creation living today. God has promised us he will be with us forever. This is, to me, the most essential understanding of God’s will.
Father God, you have promised us eternity with you. I stand on this promise. Today is my mom’s birthday, and she would be 94 years old if she were still alive. She is with you, and with my dad, in paradise. Hold them close, Lord and let them know for me how very much I love them. Amen

Friday, May 13th, 2022 Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. So I ask myself Is it good, Is it acceptable, Is it perfect if the answer is yes to just one of these it would seem to be God’s will. As a believer of course I want to make decisions according to His will. But what happens when I just don’t know which way God wants me to go. It can be very difficult to see God’s plan and know which road to take. I/We pray to God and ask for help but there are often no visions or stro…
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
God was reassuring his people that their faith in Him would be rewarded. We should have faith in God that his plans for us are the best. No matter what hardships we face we need to have faith in God. Jesus was also in God’s plan because God had a plan long before time began. Jesus also suffered just like we did in his 33 years on earth. God’s will for us continues to be in his care.
Dearest Lord, you knew long before I was born what my…
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. This verse is about God‘s will and about hope. God‘s will is for us to follow him. He doesn’t want disaster to follow us but it may. But he assures us we have a future with him. Hope is so important in this crazy world. Jeremiah says the Lord has plans for you, but I don’t think it means that the lord has a book saying, Roz, you’re going to be a teacher and a wife, mother, grandmother, etc. Simply by trying to be a good Christian and doing God’s…
