1Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
This verse has been taken up into our daily language, with the word "love" being replaced with many other nouns. "A coat of new paint", "a good meal", "an excellent report card," can cover a multitude of sins. I suppose the true essence of the phrase is still there. What will induce us to get beyond or forget or forgive a problem? In this verse from 1Timothy, we are reminded it is love which allows us to completely cover up and forget the sins of others. This is how God forgives us. Does our love cover a multitude of sins?
Holy Lord, I know that you forgive me. You have told me and shown me in so many different ways.
I need to be able to do the same. I believe now that includes "covering" the sins of others in love.
It must mean treating them as if they had not sinned at all, just as you do for me. This is true reconciliation. Amen

1 Peter 4:8
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
If we could only take Jesus’ advice and “love everyone as I have loved you,” how different our relationships would be. If you truly love someone, how can you hold onto a grudge against them, how can you feel superior to someone, how could you not do all to help someone. Yes, love can help us be a better person to all around us. It is reconciliation in its finest form.
Prayer: gracious God, help me see everyone through loving eyes. Amen

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
We live in a world where we can get things quickly. There are instant answers to everything on line. We enjoy instant responses through text messages. In the fast-paced world, it’s very easy to forget the basic things that God tells us to do. He tells us to be kind, Love one another. Being kind is tough. Loving others is just as tough. We must always be loving in what we say to others because , because it covers a multitude of sins. We are to forgive others. Other people will let you down, say unkind things about yo…
I meant to include this article from Plough magazine as a supplement to my post today. It is something the Transformers have discussed from time to time. Look at the comment section as well as there is some interesting stuff there.

1Peter 4:8 The compassion discussed yesterday is the foundation for the deep love that covers sin and opens the door of reconciliation. It was Jesus’ deep love and compassion that put Him on the Cross to cover the sins of the world. Doing our part in passing this forward is an act of obedience and worship. Cultivating compassion will give rise to love deep enough for us to become more like Christ, ever weakening the stronghold of sin in our lives.
Prayer - Loving God, will I ever learn to love as You love? Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not. Great is thy faithfulness. Lead me to grow in compassion to develop love deep enough to cover a multitude…
