Colossians 3:5-11
verse 11: Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. These words remind me of Christ’s potential. Christ has a place in the heart of every living being on earth. It is not up to me to figure out the “who” or “when“ or “how” this is to happen. God provides this increase, this connection. I am to love everyone. Not just those I believe are worthy of it. The “fragrance of Christ” can lead others in God’s direction. Our loving kindness and generosity can do this. “Christ is all, and is in all.”
Holy Father, help me to see opportunities to love others, to lead others in your direction. There is no one who is to be left out or not included. Open my eyes. Amen

2021-0129 Friday, Daily Devotion - Colossians 3:10-11 (NIV)
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and is in all.
Today’s scripture reminds, reaffirms, and refreshes my mind with the key element of daily routine with some more detail. This must be my daily prayer every morning.
Lord, help me put on the new self in You every morning so that I can be renewed in knowledge in Your image. Guide me not to look at people based on their background, situation, or status but see them in…
Colossians 3: 5-11
7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
We attempt to kill sin by eradicating it from our lives. As we learn more and more how to be Christ like, we are renewed in the knowledge of Jesus. We are becoming more and more of who we really are. Attempting to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, reflecting more and more on how Jesus lived.
Dearest Lord you gave Jesus to us so that we could be renewed. To understand how sin kills our bodies and the knowledge, through Jesus’ death, of our…
Colossians 3:8 - “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”
Paul added more sins to the ones that had previously been considered serious. In the past when I thought of confession of sins I was never sure what to confess. This list gives me a new perspective. At first I thought, well I do swear sometimes but that’s it. Then I thought some more. I certainly get angry – usually for no good reason, and if I talk about someone negatively then that is slander, even if it never affects that person directly.
Dear Lord, I do have much to confess. Please help me…
Colossians 3:8 - “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”
Five counts in Paul’s charge against the Colossians and I have been guilty of them all. The Spirit continues to work on me and I hope I am better today than yesterday which was better than the day before, etc. Is there any doubt our unhinged culture needs to hear and heed this message? In the course of my consulting work I come across many troubling things. This week I read a rage-fueled text consisting of but one poorly constructed paragraph of incomplete and run-on sentences studded with over 20 uses of the “F”…
