A Daily Devotion for Friday, August 21

2 Corinthians 4:5-7

verse 6: For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Once God came to earth as Jesus, we could no longer ignore his power or presence among us. He promised us He would live forever in our hearts and we would be forever with Him. Although this power is mighty and it’s value is beyond measure, it is kept in “jars of clay” (each of us). It is up to me to recognize and protect and cherish this gift from God. I honor God by treasuring Him. Every choice I make needs to be a reflection of God’s presence.

Holy God, I am so thankful for your gift of Jesus. May my life reflect my gratitude and love for you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

We are indeed jars of clay, very easily shattered despite our imagined strength. As for me an…
