A Daily Devotion for December 28, Monday

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

The concept of being able to “start over” is such an important part of my Christian life. If I couldn’t start over, I would be a mess of tears and guilt. Starting over means asking God for forgiveness, asking those I have wronged for forgiveness, forgiving oneself, and then moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose. I believe God makes me a new creation each day, starting fresh and blameless.

Lord, I need only ask you for forgiveness, and I know it is given. It is there for me before I even ask. I don’t know how I can possibly live up to such an awesome gift. I am thankful. Amen

What inspiring messages from everyone. I try to keep all things in perspective but there are times when that seems hard to do. We must remember that the past is gone, tomorrow has not come so we must live joyfully in today.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Anyone can be a new creation in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ changes those who come to Him by faith. The saved are not just forgiven. They are changed into a new creation. However, being a new creation doesn’t mean that we are perfect. It means that we are changed and that we are being changed. This is something God alone can do in us. This i…

2Corinthians 5:17. When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun. When someone takes on the Christian life after a life of sin, this is what they need to hear. They are not reformed, rehabilitated, or re-educated, they are now newly created in Christ. They need never look backward and feel unworthy or guilty. They should be forward looking, learning, and spreading the news that saved them. Later is verse 20 Paul tells us that we are Christ’s ambassadors. God can now use them to spread his good news. Prayer: Gracious God, help me see how I can help others become new. Amen

2 Corinthians 5: 17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.

Being born again can mean so many things, but to me it means seeing God in a whole new light. I had never read the Bible until 2 ½ years ago, when I was introduced to Pastor Gil and his sermons. They resonate with all God has done for me. Jesus has come into my life again and this time I am able to understand him better. It opens a whole new world of what God has given to me. Yes, I still sin, but I do so less willingly and less frequently. With Jesus’ birth and…
