2 Corinthians 5:18-20
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's embassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: be reconciled to God.
The word reconciliation appears five times in these three consecutive verses. For me this again brings up images of the torn curtain, symbolizing this reconciliation. The curtain which separated God from his people (what is sin but anything which separates us from God?) has been torn and has fallen away. We can and do put up new curtains every day, but they cannot keep us from God's forgiveness.
Lord God, May my life be free of anything which separates me from you. Forgive me for my sins, and I humbly ask that you point out those sins that I may be missing, because I am sorry for anything I do which puts distance between us. Amen
