Invitation to Worship
L: When our lives become a valley of dry bones,
P: God clothes us with flesh and hearts that beat with love.
L: When our souls seem withered away,
P: God breathes new life into us once more that we might live.
L: Come! Let us worship.
All: Amen.
Opening Prayer
God of promise and hope,
we come to you feeling dried up,
like a valley filled with dry bones.
Share your visions of new life with us,
that we might have hope for our future.
Bring us up from the grave,
that we might live as people of promise.
Put your Spirit within us,
that we might have life everlasting.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Ministry of Music
Willingly
Scripture (Old Testament) / Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Scripture (New Testament) / Romans 5:3-4; Hebrews 6:19
Romans 5:3-4 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain
Sermon / Pastor Gil

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; Praise him above, ye heavenly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
Blessings of the Offering / Pastor Gil
Holy God, you sent your Son into the world,
that we might set our minds on life and peace,
rather than dwelling on earthly things.
Receive this offering,
that it may go forth to continue the work of Christ,
who brings fullness of life.
May our gifts be a source of light in a world
that has learned to love the darkness.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Closing Hymn / UMH #348
