Welcome and News in the life of the church

Hello! Everyone!

Welcome to online worship at Contoocook United Methodist Church. Although we can't get together to worship at church, we never stop worshipping our Lord, God no matter where we are.

I hope and pray that we can keep worshipping our Almighty God with all our hearts, mind, and souls.

Centering Words

Laugh with Sarah, as life grows within the womb of an old woman. Stand in amazement with the crowds, as illiterate fishermen perform the miracles of God. Forget what you think you know. Expect miracles. For with God, anything is possible!

Introit / UMH #328 Surely The Presence of the Lord

Silent Prayer

: Invite the Holy Spirit to come in the midst of our hearts.

Prayer Response / FWS #2193

: Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying

Invitation to Worship

L: Call to the Lord, who hears our prayers.

P: Sing to the Lord, who delights in our songs.

L: Wait for the Lord, the source of our hope.

P: Worship the Lord, who is worthy of our praise.

All: Amen

Opening Prayer

God of wondrous love,

Your miracles always catch us by surprise.

When our time of blessing comes,

may we obey with Sarah

and dance with Abraham.

When our bodies are touched by Your healing grace,

may we bow before Your throne of glory.

Come to us now, as we gather to worship,

that we might be touched by Your Spirit

and made whole by Your grace.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Ministry of Music: "How Great Thou Art"

Today's Scripture: Matthew 9:35-38 (NIV)

35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Semon: What does the Ascension of Jesus mean to us?

Offertory Invitation

Gracious God, Holy Trinity,

we offer these gifts and ourselves

as instruments of your ever-new creation. Amen.

If you are able to send your weekly pledge by mail, would you do so, please? Our church address is Contoocook United Methodist Church PO Box 356, Contoocook, NH 03229.

Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

Praise him, all creatures here below;

Praise him above, ye heavenly host:

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Amen.

Blessings of the Offering

Touch these gifts, O God,

with your manifold blessings.

Touch our very lives,

that we may be instruments of Your hope.

May our gifts and our lives,

bring your healing, love, and compassion

to a world in need.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Closing Hymn / "You Raise Me Up"

Benediction

Now Go now in peace, but be prepared to obey like Sarah.

Go now in hope, and be ready for unexpected miracles.

Go now in love, for the one who loves us goes with us.

Amen.
