A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s Prayer
Glorious God, we give praise and thanksgiving for your magnificent handiwork. Gazing at the sun and sky, the seas, and stars, all provide only a glimpse of your expansive power stretching beyond imagination. As we tread the earth filled with your handiwork of mountains and meadows, rocks and flowers, birds and sea creatures, our eyes gaze on the rainbow of colors, varied shapes, and textures only you could create. We are amazed and grateful. In this gift of your Creation, our souls find respite, revival and nurturing to our very core. Let us take time to revel in your endowment that we might find refuge, strength, and inspiration, reviving us for our service to you and your Son, Jesus the Christ. In the revival of our soul, remove from us those hidden faults that keep us from being our best for you. And grant us O God, the thoughts, words, and actions which you would have us speak to best represent who you created us to be. Amen. Based on Psalm 19 Reverend Mary Owen, Pastor Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, Athol, MA
