A daily prayer from the New England Conference

The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Psalm 15 15:1 O LORD, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill? 15:2 Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; 15:3 who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors; 15:4 in whose eyes the wicked are despised, but who honor those who fear the LORD; who stand by their oath even to their hurt; 15:5 who do not lend money at interest, and do not take a bribe against the innocent. Those who do these things shall never be moved. O LORD, it is our desire to abide in Your presence, to dwell perpetually with You. May Your Spirit keep us walking faithfully in Your ways, doing what is right in Your eyes. Reveal Your truth to us and may we speak Your truth boldly from our hearts in love. Seal our lips that we may not slander or hurt another with our words. May we do no harm to our friends nor spread any bad word against our neighbors. May we always revere You and remain faithful to our commitment to follow You, regardless of the cost. Keep us blameless in Your sight and may we never be moved. By Your grace and power we pray in Your Holy Name, Amen. Submitted by Gretchen Casey, Licensed Local Pastor at North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, Eddington Maine.
