A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Psalm 111, Ephesians 5:15-20, John 6:51-58 My heart sings all praise to the Father, from whom all things come, and all praise to the Christ Jesus, God’s only Son, and all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one. (Faith We Sing #2223) Living Lord, you feed my hungry soul. As I cry out to You, You meet me where I am and offer all that you are. Every crumb an offering of love and grace to fill every part of my being. I awaken and your light caresses my cheek. Each breath of the Spirit quenching my thirst. Each thought tripping with joy as I look to you. Each moment bathed with hope. Bread of Life, I hear the cries of your people Seeking idols that parch the soul Seeking and not finding Searching in all the wrong places And finding nothing to satisfy their hunger. Merciful God, soften hearts and turn them to you. May we see the cross before us and believe. May we hear the whispers of your voice and be healed where injustice, brokenness, illness have no hold. May we drink deeply from your cup and be restored in relationship with one another. May we feast with you and be filled with love. Holy Lord, may we live with one mind in Christ where no storm or flood can overcome! May we truly live in you where wisdom speaks with love. Come, Lord Jesus, come! All honor and glory is yours! With each crumb, we pray. Amen.
